| Noodle Recipes "1/2 cup slivered almonds 2 tablespoons sesame seeds 1/3 cup salad oil 3 tablespoons vinegar 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce 1 3-ounce package chicken-flavor ramen noodles 1 tablespoon sugar 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 of a medium head cabbage, cored and shredded (about 6 cups) 1/3 to 1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions (3 or 4) " "1. Spread almonds and sesame seeds in a shallow baking pan. In a 300 degree F oven bake about 10 minutes or until toasted, stirring once; cool. 2. Meanwhile, for dressing, in a screw-top jar combine oil, vinegar, soy sauce, seasoning packet from noodles, sugar, and black pepper. Cover and shake well. 3. In a large bowl layer cabbage, green onions, almonds, and sesame seeds. Break noodles into small pieces. Sprinkle onto salad. 4. Add dressing; toss gently to coat. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or up to 4 hours. Makes 8 side-dish servings. 5. 5. Sesame Chicken and Noodle Slaw: Prepare as above, except layer 1-1/2 cups chopped cooked chicken or pork with the cabbage and onion. Continue as above. Makes 4 main-dish servings. " | ||
